Concrete subfloors are porous, dusty, and rarely perfectly level. Without preparation, adhesive is absorbed unevenly into the substrate, leading to weak spots and eventual delamination. A concrete primer seals the surface and controls moisture, while a self-levelling compound creates the perfectly smooth substrate (tolerance ≤2mm over 2m) required for sheet vinyl.
