Laboratory ESD Flooring

Static-dissipative vinyl for laboratories: chemical-resistant, easy to clean and compliant with IEC 61340.

Request a Quote

In a laboratory the floor is one part of the static control floor system: the sheet only carries charge away when it is bonded to a verified ground point, which is why we recommend measuring each zone to EN 1081 or IEC 61340-4-1 after installation. ESD compliant installations are quoted against the resistance target you specify.

Product Overview

UNITECH NEXUS laboratory ESD flooring protects sensitive instruments and samples from electrostatic damage in electronics, metrology and R&D laboratories. The dissipative surface (10⁶-10⁹Ω) works with ESD footwear and wrist straps to complete the protected area.

Resistant to common lab chemicals and easy to disinfect between experiments.

FAQ

Why do labs need ESD flooring?

Static discharge can damage sensitive components and, worse in a lab, invalidate a measurement you cannot repeat. A dissipative floor gives charge a controlled path to earth, so people and equipment stay at a similar potential and readings remain comparable. The floor is one part of that path: earthing, footwear and instrumentation complete it.

Can it be disinfected daily?

Yes. The PUR surface withstands the disinfectants and cleaning agents normally used in laboratories, and because the conductive network runs through the full thickness of the sheet rather than sitting on top, repeated cleaning does not wear the conductivity away. For aggressive agents, check the chemical compatibility table with our technical department before specifying.

Does it need special shoes?

Not for the floor to work, but yes for a complete EPA. IEC 61340-5-1 fixes the combination of person, shoe and floor below 3.5 × 10⁷ Ω, measured by the IEC 61340-4-5 method. In ordinary shoes the floor still limits charge build-up; it simply does not guarantee that people are grounded.

Four details get you a quoted price

  • Specification — product line, thickness, roll or plank size, colour reference
  • Quantity — total square metres, and whether it ships in one lot or in phases
  • Destination — port or city, so we can quote FOB or CIF
  • Delivery window — the date the material has to be on site

Send these four by email or WhatsApp and we reply with a technical data sheet and a firm price. With fewer details we can only quote a range.
